When you enter problems into Bugzilla, you want to be able to take those issues and import them into ScrumWorks Pro. Plus, they need to still have the adjustments that you made during your meeting with the Product Owner. Here are some steps to assist you with this process.
1. Log into your Bugzilla account as Administrator.
2. Click Add a New Custom Field.
3. Create a Custom Field. This can be any description, such as "cf_sprint". Basically, you are creating a system by which you can see which bugs need to be fixed during a given sprint.
4. Add a description to your custom field.
5. Make the format a dropdown menu.
6. Click Create.
Creating Your Custom Field
You may be asking yourself why it was necessary to create a drop down menu. Well, you can easily add your sprint-specific specifications to the drop down menu. To add this information into the drop down menu, follow the below procedures.
1. Click on your field.
2. Click Edit Legal Values for this Field.
3. Click Add from the Custom Field values.
4. Open ScrumWorks Pro. You need to make sure that the fields that you are adding to Bugzilla match the fields that you have in ScrumWorks Pro.
5. Open up your product in ScrumWorks Pro.
6. Click Add to add all your ScrumWorks Pro fields into Bugzilla's drop down menu.
7. Create a New field for each Bug that you are inputting.
Creating Your Custom Field
It is very important to make sure that your ScrumWorks Pro and Bugzilla fields match. To match your fields, use the following example as a guideline. If you have sprints that are two weeks in duration, you will have them broken up by month and year. Plus, you'll have a description of what is being done in each sprint. You should then use the month and year as your specifications in the drop down menu. This makes the fields easier to import and gives consistency to the overall process.
It's now time to fully integrate the two programs. To do this, log in as Administrator in ScrumWorks Pro, and follow these steps.
1. Go to File and Access External Application.
2. Click Download. In this window, you need to input your Bugzilla installation details.
3. Enter your user name and password and click connect.
4. Bugzilla will now list the fields that can be imported into ScrumWorks Pro.
5. Click All Fields.
6. Click OK.
With ScrumWorks Pro, you can pick the bugs that you want to be imported. The great importance of integrating Bugzilla and ScrumWorks is that it will help your team stay abreast of every new bug. As information is put into Bugzilla, the Scrum Master can see what's going on and keep the team on track to finish the product on time. Again, combining these two programs will allow your team more agility during the sprints.
